So Tokyo is out too so that leave Rio de Janeiro and Madrid.  I think will be a first for SA with Rio.

chicago is in big money trouble i hear. the olympics most likely woulda sunk them. the olympics are just a ruse using sports to bring in money to develop cities. this would be just fine except the gov't/politicians usually spend way way way over budget and leave the cities in financial ruin. once broke, they can raise taxes and no explanation is needed as to why because the cities do have nice new things like transit, buildings, roads etc. if done correctly, the olympics would be a great thing to come to your city.

Didn't Brazil default on their loans in the 1980's already once,  I wonder if they are up to the debt of the Olympics?

 i have no idea, but it is my understanding they have one of the best economies in the world right now. aren't they they ones who grow their own fuel and import no oil at all?
