I am travelling in the U.S., and I got a pay as you go cell phone down here, and I went to make a payment on my mastercard by phoning it in........ all was going fine as I entered my card info... then it got to the part where it said "enter your zipcode as it appears on your credit card's billing address"....... I'm like 'WTF', how do I enter my Canadian postal code that has letters and numbers in it??
So I entered the numbers as the phone touchpad numbers correspond, get through the whole process, then it says "transaction declined as address doesn't match"
What am I supposed to do? Why do the major credit card companies conveniently seem to forget that credit cards are supposed to be worldwide, especially in phone transactions?
I've run into the same problem in swiping my credit card at the pump at gas stations, they say 'enter zip code', and of course no way to do that with canadian postal code, so again, transaction declined.
