my power went out first thing in the morning with that bloody huge wind storm we had.
I was worried about it coming back on in time for me to get the garage door open to get the car out.
Anyway my kids decided to try and open the garage door manually while I was in the shower.
that didn't  turn out very good. They couldn't reach the latch thing so my son sits on top of my car and then leans on the sunroof, well the bloody thing shattered to bits.He cut his hand up,and there was bits of glass all over the fricken car.
I got my husband to come home from work so I could have the other vehicle to get into work on time.
Not the best start to a day.
wondwer how much they woill ding me for a new sunroof. I'm not ewven sure if i should bother going through ICBC or not.
do you think its worth putting in a claim. Does that effect my insurance premiums if I do? I've rarely ever had an ICBC claim, and never for anything little like this.

I think it can affect your premiums but I think you are allowed one claim before it gets high, but I am not sure.

i think it affects your rates somehow even if you get one free you don't wanna use it up on this. i never knew they were that easy to break. are you sure he only sat on it? sounds like he dropped a hammer on it jumped on it or something. that just seems very weird that they break so easily.

He didn't sit on it,he just leaned against it as he was trying to pull the cord to open the garage door.
I almost always pay upfront and never use ICBC.However we still have not had it looked at. i guess we can take it in and see what the cost is etc, we can always still just pay ourselves if it effects our rates in anyway. we both have a 40% discount.
if the sunroof is less then $500 it is basically the same as our deductable anyway. So we will just pay for one,not a big deal.

Ours was from the factory.I hardly even open it. we just use our AC when it is hot. some times in the summer I flip it open for air flow, but most days I forget we even have it,it is just our roof.

i've only had one. it was in a lincoln i owned and it was just great. it was super heavy duty and it sure would not have broke even if your son walked all over it. sometimes, watching it close, i got the idea that it would break a tiny arm if it was in there. for sure, it would break a finger. that was my old mark v--1977 i think. they don't make them like that anymore.
