I was listening to a song and it made an interesting twist in it's gender confusion, leaving the listener unsure of whether they were hearing it correctly or if they had assumed wrongly that the singer was a woman or vice versa a man

if you know of any, post the video here

I'll start with this one, White Town - Your Woman:

the song intrigues the listener, as you listen you assume it is a male singing, which I think it is, but then he sings "I could never be your woman", which makes us wonder what is going on in a mysterious way...

With the white town song he is quoting her.

"Well I guess what you say is true
I could never be the right kind of girl for you"

Before he starts the chorus he sings that^.

interesting, I didn't notice that, but is the rest of it really a quote, when he sings "I could never be your woman"?

When I listen to this I think of loving the female sex. It's sung by a female artist, would make you think it's singing about a man.

I am going to have to investigate that. I must say it is not something I ever noticed or thought much about, I have always just enjoyed music for what it offers, in the ways of de-stressing, relaxing & be entertained simultaneously... Lets not forget the opportunity to use music for meditative purposes.

I agree with your Orik, I love to use music for "meditative" purposes, trance like songs that put you in a mood for introspection.
